This idea for this entire blog site started back in 1999. My wife decided to go into a different direction. The next thing I knew I was single parenting a nine year daughter. I had a million things running through my mind. At the top of my list was making sure my daughter was properly educated. I did what millions of parents do in America. I fell into a false sense that my daughter was. She had all “A’s” and “B’s” on her report card, and the state test claimed she was very proficient in mathematics.

Then one day after school we stopped by a local Mapco convenience store. Of course she wanted some candy after her hard day at school. So, I gave her a $20.00 dollar bill as I stood near the door, watching her transact the purchase.(this is how I use to test her knowledge) As she approached me, I quickly grabbed her hand covering up the receipt. I asked her, “ how much money did you spend.” She said, $4.13. I said, “okay, then how much money did the cashier give you back.” I was hoping those “A’s” and “B’s” was true assessment of her abilities. But, to my chagrin she only produced a frown across her forehead and a perplex disposition. At that particular moment I realized the the Report Card was one of the most fraudulent documents that the government produces.

I did what most parents would do. I asked for a meeting with the math teacher. I shared what I had discovered and asked for some solutions to the problem. To my surprise the math teacher told me that it was not a requirement to know how to count money back inside of her head. As long as she could do it on paper, this would satisfy the district, county and the state. I didn’t mean to… but I was just staring at this teacher with my mouth wide open. I was saying to my self, “this person doesn’t have a clue about the real world.” In the real world, The cashier at Walmart has the numbers on his or her cash register screen. In the real world, you have numbers on your denomination of dollars inside your pocket. It’s up to you as a customer to make sure that the cashier is giving you back the proper change.(and they are not going to give you paper to figure that out…it must be done mentally)

So, I did what I always do when I have a problem. I hit the bookstores and start searching for books which was written to help master mental math. To my chagrin it didn’t exist. So, I did what I always do when I can’t find what I’m looking for. I simply take my innate mechanical abilities and simplify go and create it.

This site and the techniques you are going to encounter were created from real world experiences. They’ve been tested for years in numerous situations. No alibis that the schools or the politicians can create can stop these techniques from making you academically Invincible.
